City of Somerville, Massachusetts City Council Licenses and Permits Committee Meeting Minutes 6:00 PM Wednesday, December 13, 2023 This meeting was held via Zoom, was called to order by Chair Burnley at 6:00 pm and adjourned at 6:10 pm with a roll call vote of all in favor (Councilor Ewen-Campen, Councilor Clingan and Chair Burnley), none opposed, and none absent. Others present: Stephanie Widzowski – Clerk of Committees. Roll Call Chairperson Willie Burnley Jr., Vice Chair Jesse Clingan and Ben Ewen-Campen Present: 1. Approval of the Minutes of the Licenses and Permits Committee Meeting of November 15, 2023. Committee Minutes (ID # 23-1707) ACCEPTED RESULT: Chairperson Burnley Jr., Vice Chair Clingan and Ward Three City Councilor Ewen-Campen AYE: 2. Public Hearing 2.1. New Garage License, Greentown Labs, 444 Somerville Avenue, for 5 inside, 0 outside for storing vehicles, Mon-Sun: 7am-8pm. License (ID # 23-1735) Chair Burnley opened the public hearing at 6:03 pm and closed it at 6:09 pm. Greg Ralich, representing Greentown Labs, explained that the business had held a similar permit since 2019 but has converted to a nonprofit and is reapplying from scratch. The space is leased out to “member companies” who sometimes need space for vehicles. Chair Burnley asked for clarification where the fifth parking space would be on the plans, which Mr. Ralich demonstrated.
