City of Somerville, Massachusetts City Council Licenses and Permits Committee Meeting Minutes 6:00 PM Wednesday, June 26, 2024 The meeting took place remotely via Zoom and was called to order at 6:02 PM by Chair Burnley and adjourned at 6:10 PM on a roll call vote of 3 in favor (Councilors Ewen-Campen, Mbah and Burnley), none against and none absent. Others present: Michael Potere - Licensing Operations Manager, Peter Forcellese – Legislative Clerk. . Roll Call City Councilor At Large Willie Burnley Jr., City Councilor At Large Wilfred N. Mbah and Ward Three City Councilor Ben Ewen-Campen Present: 1. Approval of the Minutes of the Licenses and Permits Committee Meeting of May 22, 2024. Committee Minutes (ID # 24-0711) ACCEPTED RESULT: City Councilor At Large Burnley Jr., City Councilor At Large Mbah and Ward Three City Councilor Ewen-Campen AYE: 2. Public Hearing 2.1 New Flammables License, Building 2 Owner LLC, 808 Windsor Street, storing 3,549 gallons. License (ID # 24-0793) Councilor Burnley opened the public hearing. Mr. Jake Tucci, representing the petitioner, explained that the building is complete and this request is to plan ahead for the future needs of the building and said that less than 793 gallons of flammable will be stored on the property. The company has received its certificate of occupancy but has no tenants at this time. Councilor Mbah asked about any safety protocols in place and Mr. Tucci said the company tries to meet all safety requirements and noted that the Somerville Fire Department did a walk through of the site. Mr. Tucci commented that future tenants might need additional flammable permits, but the types of flammable are unknown at this time. The public hearing was closed. Chair Burnley informed Mr. Tucci that he should not proceed with any Page 1 of 2
