City of Somerville, Massachusetts City Council City Council Caucus Meeting Minutes 6:30 PM Tuesday, November 25, 2025 The meeting was called to order at 6:34 PM by the City Clerk. 1. CALL TO ORDER Present: Jon Link Kristen E. Strezo Ben Wheeler Matthew McLaughlin J.T. Scott Ben Ewen-Campen Jesse Clingan Naima Sait Lance L. Davis Emily Hardt Absent: Wilfred N. Mbah 1.1. Call of the Roll. Roll Call (ID # 25-1723) PLACED ON FILE RESULT: 2. ELECTION OF A PRESIDENT FOR 2026 2.1. Election of a President of the 2026 City Council (nonbinding vote). Election (ID # 25-1724) Councilor McLaughlin nominated Councilor Davis for President. Councilor Clingan seconded. There being no other nominations, Councilor Ewen-Campen moved to close nominations. Councilor Scott seconded, and the motion passed on a roll call vote of 10 in favor (Link, Strezo, Wheeler, McLaughlin, Scott, Ewen-Campen, Clingan, Sait, Davis, Hardt), 0 opposed, and 1 absent (Mbah). The roll call to select a President indicated 10 Councilors supporting Councilor Davis (Link, Strezo, Wheeler, McLaughlin, Scott, Ewen-Campen, Clingan, Sait, Davis, Hardt), with 1 Councilor absent (Mbah). Election (ID # 25-1725) Councilor Davis nominated Councilor Mbah for Vice President. Councilor Link seconded. There being no other nominations, Councilor Ewen-Campen moved to close nominations. Councilor Scott seconded, and the motion passed on a roll call vote of 10 in favor (Link, Strezo, Wheeler, McLaughlin, Scott, Ewen-Campen, Clingan, Sait, Davis, Hardt), 0 opposed, and 1 absent (Mbah). The roll call to select a Vice President indicated 10 Councilors supporting Councilor Mbah (Link, Strezo, Wheeler, McLaughlin, Scott, Ewen-Campen, Clingan, Sait, Davis, Hardt), with 1Councilor absent (Mbah). PLACED ON FILE RESULT: 4. ADJOURNMENT Councilor Ewen-Campen moved to adjourn and Councilor Clingan seconded. The motion was approved on a roll call vote of 10 in favor (Link, Strezo, Wheeler, McLaughlin, Scott, Ewen-Campen, Clingan, Sait, Davis, Hardt), 0 opposed and 1 absent (Mbah).
