Storefront Improvement HR — File 199603

SECTION 1. The City of Somerville is hereby authorized to appropriate and use public funds to assist commercial properties in Somerville in the maintenance and improvement of their exterior storefronts for the purpose of creating and strengthening economic vitality. Such a program will serve to extend improvement assistance to the exteriors of small, local commercial properties in all of Somerville’s neighborhood business districts, with the goal of leveraging additional private investment in these same businesses. SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
