Approval of the June 3, 2015 Minutes RESULT: ACCEPTED 2. Public Hearing: 199339 - Bon Me Foods Rebecca Simanson and Patrick Lynch appeared before the committee in support of the petition. There was no opposition. 3. Public Hearing: 199449 - Dino's Market 4. Public Hearing: 199450 - Mass Inspection The owner of Mass Inspection explained that the lift is necessary for his inspection business, since some vehicles need to be lifted. He showed a picture of the business from the 1920’s or 30's. The former owner spoke and said that he always used a lift without any issues or noises, and added that a lift is required to be in this business. He pointed out that in his 32 years of business, he never had any complaints from the community. Resident Joe Centrella opposed the petition, stating that a lift is not needed. 5. Public Hearing: 199451 - American Auto The business owner, his counsel and the landlord all appeared before the committee. Resident Paul Williams stated he has no problems and the business was very quiet. The landlord stated he does not have any issues and believes that the business owner is a good businessman. Stephen Robert appeared as attorney for Mr. Rosenfield, the landlord for the property in question. Some residents voiced concern regarding a retaining wall and the amount of foot traffic cutting through the area. Resident Linda Pingiaro said that she believes the proprietor did

Resident Emily Vides spoke about the trash and the lack safety for the community, especially with small children, pointing out that there are a lot of people loitering and looking at the cars. Ald. Lafuente said these are violations as related to the number of cars on the property and added that the property is not in good condition, has no greenery, is not maintained and did not have snow cleared. He asked that the committee deny this business owner's request for a license. 6. Public Hearing: 199543 - Papa John's Operations manager Robert Namias stated that the business wants to extend its hours of operation as noted on the petition. 197553: Sign/Awning Permit, Brazil Express, 429 Somerville Ave., 1 sign. RESULT: APPROVED 199339: New Mobile Food Vendor, Bon Me Foods. A discussion was held about the potential hours of operation and type of food to be offered. RESULT: APPROVED 199449: New Mobile Food Vendor, Dino's Market. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 199450: Amending Garage License Application, Mass Inspection, 712 Mystic Ave., seeking use of the on-premises lift. The committee asked the City Solicitor to research whether a lift is necessary for this type of business. Alderman Connolly requested that background information on the business owner's other businesses, along with references from the communities where they were located, be forwarded to the City Clerk. In addition, the committee would like for the City Solicitor to find out if the inspection station needs a garage or repair license to operate the business. The City Solicitor was directed to inquire what the Registry of Motor Vehicles requires to operate an inspection station. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 199451: Amending Used Car Dealers License Class 2, American Auto Gallery, 682 Mystic Ave., extending to 654 Mystic Ave. with 16 vehicles outside. Mr. Smiljic spoke about previous tickets issued on this property regarding garbage from 2011 and informed the committee that 682 Mystic Avenue does not legally exist and is just a mailing address. The legal address is 706 Mystic Avenue. Alderman Connolly spoke about the lack of care for the property. The applicant admitted to having used cars on the Arbella lot without having a license or permission to do so. The license application was denied.

The item was approved for a 6 month trial period. RESULT: APPROVED AS AMENDED
