Mr. Proakis read an email from Alderman McLaughlin. Mr. Capuano asked that the Planning Board get more information from the Health and Police Departments regarding the best locations. Alderman Rossetti, speaking as a member of the community, had questions regarding how many facilities would be in a county. It was her understanding that there could only be 5 facilities per county. Additionally, she had questions about a sliding scale for fees and about the cleanliness of the facilities. Alderman Rossetti suggested the application go before the BOA’s Licenses and Permits Committee. Mr. Proakis stated there is a facility in Salem which is not in Middlesex county. Public Hearing closed at 6:30 The record will remain open until the close of business on Friday, August 14, 2015. The Planning Board will deliberate on the August 20th. 199554 - Requesting an amendment to Zoning Ordinance 7.15 Re: Medical Marijuana Treatment Facilities.: Mr. Proakis spoke on the history of the state public health and zoning regulations for addressing marijuana treatment facilities and proposed an amendment to the ordinance for marijuana

Alderman Heuston suggested looking at a comprehensive zoning map of the areas outlined in the draft ordinance. Additionally, she would like to hear feedback from other cities and towns, and the public, about this ordinance. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE
