RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 196311: That the Administration report to this Board the timetable for using the $220,000 in traffic mitigation funds paid by Maxwell's Green in 2011 for traffic-slowing measures on both sides of the Lowell Street bridge. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 196436: That the Administration report to this Board on plans to slow traffic on Lowell Street, make its intersections safer, and use the $220,000 contributed by Maxwell's Green for traffic calming. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 197023: That the Director of SPCD (T&I) develop a plan for a pedestrian crosswalk at Vernon Street and Lowell Street and report to this Board and the Ward 5 Alderman on how that would be incorporated into the Lowell Street bridge traffic calming project.

RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 197890: That the Director of Traffic and Parking and the Superintendent of Inspectional Services update this Board on safety measures undertaken at the Elm Street bus stop located in front of Dunkin Donuts. The issue was addressed by Mr. Smith. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 197981: That the Commissioner of Public Works determine if it is feasible to place a bump out at the corner of Bonner and Columbus Avenues. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 198570: That the Director of Traffic and Parking inform this Board and the School Committee about enforcing parking regulations during street cleaning near schools in the morning between 8 and 8:30 AM. Ms. Rinfret stated that ticketing doesn't begin until 8:45 AM RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 198725: That the Director of SPCD update this Board on the status of Mass DOT work on McGrath Highway. Mr. Rosen spoke about the need to replace signal work and also discussed the elimination of parking on Medford Street. Chairman McWatters requested that the residents on Medford Street be kept apprised on the matter. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199058: That the Director of Traffic and Parking appear before this Board to discuss the on-street parking permits given to Tufts University employees. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199135: That the Director of Traffic and Parking repair the damaged NO LEFT TURN

RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199137: That the Director of Traffic and Parking confirm whether parking is allowed in the middle of the end of Fairmount Street abutting Russell Road, and address installing a NO PARKING sign there. According to Mr. Smith, parking is not allowed in that area. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199244: That the Commissioner of Public Works or the Director of Traffic and Parking install traffic calming measures on Cameron Avenue and Clarendon Avenue. Mr. Smith prepared a matrix and has submitted it to the Administration. It will be provided to the BOA. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 199269: That the Director of Traffic and Parking replace the missing Hanson street sign at Village and Hanson Streets and install a ONE WAY sign for Hanson Street. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199271: That the Director of Traffic and Parking re-paint crosswalk striping on Somerville Avenue to distinguish the brick paved pedestrian crosswalks. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199278: That the Mayor’s Office provide to this Board by June 11, the consultant's study on the Traffic Commission's regulations for the public process to request traffic calming measures. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199280: That the Director of Traffic and Parking and the Commissioner of Public Works report to this Board on the placement of NO IDLING signs at all public schools. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 199281: That the Director of Traffic and Parking or the Commissioner of Public Works prevent vehicles from parking on the east side of Cedar Street at the Community Path Extension, as automotive fluids are staining the Path Extension.

RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 199283: That the Director of Traffic and Parking consider installing a NO PARKING spot on the south side of Vernon Street at Trull Street to allow fire engines to turn onto Trull Street, and report back to the Ward 5 Alderman. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199343: That the Administration arrange for members of the Boxing Club to park in the East Somerville Community School parking lot weekdays 4-9PM. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199360: DPW Commissioner responding to various Board Orders submitted 4/23/15. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199362: Traffic and Parking Director submitting responses to various Board Orders submitted 4/23/15. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199415: That the Director of Traffic and Parking consider changing the signage on side streets that only allow access to abutters at certain times of the day, by changing the word abutters to residents. Mr. Smith explained why the term "abutters" is the correct language. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199456: That the Director of Traffic and Parking conduct a traffic study on Lincoln and Perkins Streets and propose traffic calming measures. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 199462: That the Director of Traffic and Parking install solar blinking lights at the pedestrian crossing at 270 Washington Street.

Mr. Smith explained the prioritization process and said that the Administration would come up with an overall plan. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199563: Traffic and Parking Director submitting responses to various Board Orders submitted 5/14/15. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199564: DPW Commissioner responding to various Board Orders submitted 5/28/15. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199571: That the Committee on Traffic and Parking investigate why the directive in #198726, regarding notification to residents, property owners, and businesses of changes to parking regulations along Medford Street with respect to the McGrath Highway project, was not complied with. Mr. Rosen reported that the city has increased its outreach and Mr. Smith added that proper notice was provided. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199586: That the Director of Traffic and Parking and the Director of the Office of Sustainability and the Environment report to this Board on the design, placement, effectiveness and enforcement of “NO IDLING” signs by all schools. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199662: That the Director of Traffic and Parking consider installing a crosswalk at 64 College Avenue. Mr. Smith explained that there is no sight distance for a crosswalk. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199690: That the Director of Traffic and Parking and the Chief of Police inspect, monitor and develop a plan to control the speed of traffic on Medford Street, between Central and

RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199691: That the Director of Traffic and Parking inspect the corners of James and Marshall Streets, at their intersection with Pearl Street, and suggest a plan to increase visibility for motorists who are turning onto Pearl Street. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199693: That the Director of Traffic and Parking install a crosswalk at the intersection of Thurston and Fenwick Streets and Broadway. Mr. Smith stated that this site would be a dangerous location for a crosswalk and added that there is not enough pedestrian traffic at this location. Alderman Lafuente would like the area re-worked. Mr. Rosen said that the city has been working on this. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199697: That the Chief of Police order directed patrols on Greenville Street from 7 to 9 AM and 4 to 6 PM, to ensure that motorists aren't illegally cutting through Prospect Hill. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199700: That the Traffic Commission consider installing a temporary speed bump on Governor Winthrop Road near Grimmons Park to protect children from speeding vehicles. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE 199707: That the Director of Traffic and Parking report to the Ward 7 Alderman on a plan to clear up the confusing signage at Capen Street, 405 Alewife Brook Parkway and Capen Court. RESULT: WORK COMPLETED 199752: Traffic and Parking Director responding to #199586 re: "No Idling" signage at schools. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE
