CURTATONE MAYOR COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE FY16 FUNDING RECOMMENDATION FOR REHABILITATION OF THE SOMERVILLE COMMUNITY PATH- REPAVING, CITY OF SOMERVILLE & FRIENDS OF THE COMMUNITY PATH PROJECT DESCRIPTION This project will provide resources for the City of Somerville Engineering Department, in partnership with the Friends of the Community Path, to repave three sections of the Community Path: from the grassy circle to the Cambridge line, from Thorndike St. to Buena Vista Rd. and from Grove St. parking lot to Cedar St. The City of Somerville will be repaving the portion of the Path west of Davis Square between the grassy circle to Thorndike, so this section is not included in this proposal. ELIGIBILITY The proposed project will rehabilitate open space and recreational land. RECOMMENDED FUNDING On April 28, 2016 by a vote of 6-0 the Community Preservation Committee recommended appropriating $140,000 for this project from the open space and recreation land reserve budget to the control of the City of Somerville Engineering Department for the overall purposes summarized in this document. FUNDING CONDITIONS 1. Upon commencement of the Project and as appropriate, the Grantee agrees to post a sign stating that the Project was funded through the City of Somerville’s Community Preservation Act program.
