The Water & Sewer Department has spent approximately $6, 751,137.85 on emergency repairs to the water and sewer distribution system combined over the last three years. Over the past six years the department completed approximately $45,000,000.00. in Capital Improvement Projects ranging from complete replacement to Cleaning and Lining of sewer, water and drainage related infrastructure. Including: East Broadway Beacon Street Webster Avenue Somerville Avenue Middlesex Avenue There are two current projects: Cedar Street from Highland Ave to Elm St. and the Nunziato Field storm water and drainage projects. Our 15 Year Capital Improvement Plan calls for approximately $36M for water infrastructure projects and approx. $65M in sewer infrastructure improvements. The sewer CIP will be firmly established after assessments that will be conducted in Spring 2017.
