STAINED GLASS WINDOW RESTORATION AT 83 BELMONT ST., CITY OF SOMERVILLE
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project will provide resources for the property owners at 83 Belmont St. to replace the original
stained glass window in their home which was damaged in a fire.
ELIGIBILITY
Historic resources: This project will rehabilitate and restore historic resources. 83 Belmont is on the
national and state historic registers.
RECOMMENDED FUNDING
On September 28, 2016, by a vote of 7-0, the Community Preservation Committee recommended
appropriating $4,510 for this project from the historic resources reserve budget to the control of the
Laura de la Torre Bueno for the overall purposes summarized in this document.

ALIGNMENT WITH FY17 COMMUNITY PRESERVATION PLAN
The Community Preservation Plan prioritizes historic resources projects that address crucial,
longstanding needs in Somerville’s historic landmarks and properties, especially those at risk.
FUNDING CONDITIONS
1. Upon commencement of the Project and as appropriate, the Grantee agrees to post a sign
stating that the Project was funded through the City of Somerville’s Community Preservation Act
program.

2. The Grantee agrees to execute and record a perpetual preservation restriction on its property at
the Grantee Address stated above. The City will apply to the Massachusetts Historical
Commission for approval of said restriction, and the Grantee agrees to comply will all City
requests for documentation, information, and necessary approvals.
3. The Grantee agrees to complete the proposed project following the US Secretary of the
Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation, as required by the Community Preservation Act, and to
secure contractors who have demonstrated experience successfully completing projects to
these standards.
