The meeting took place in the Committee Room and was called to order at 6:00 PM by Alderman Sullivan and adjourned at 7:08 PM. Approval of the November 15, 2016 Minutes RESULT: ACCEPTED 202042: Public Event Permit, Hudson St Neighborway, Sep 3, 8AM-5PM. Chairman Sullivan gave a recap of the prior discussion on this matter. A resident questioned the validity of the permit. Mr. Rawson, who was not part of the original meeting, said that he understood that there was a lack of notice to the neighbors. Alderman Connolly stated the process needs to be tightened. There was a conversation about the designs painted. There was also a discussion about the permit approved by the L&P Committee being only for closing the street for a block party. The approval for the street painting was given by OSPCD. One of the residents feels that the painting has decreased the value of her property and she feels it will be challenging to rent out her property in the current state. She stated there should have been written notice before the painting was allowed. Alderman Connolly suggested painting and/or marking over the mural and having a meeting with the community to talk about the process in the future. Alderman Niedergang, the alderman for the ward where the painting was done, feels that it would be unjust to paint over the mural after so many people came together to paint it.

Alderman Niedergang will hold a community meeting to talk about designs of future murals in the neighborhood. RESULT: KEPT IN COMMITTEE
