The meeting took place in the Committee Room and was called to order at 6:15 PM by Alderman Heuston and adjourned at 6:35 PM. Approval of the March 1, 2017 Minutes RESULT: ACCEPTED Approval of the March 9, 2017 Minutes RESULT: ACCEPTED 202952: Requesting the re-appointment of Juliette Rooney-Varga to the Commission on Energy Use and Climate Change. Mr. Sellers-Garcia spoke about Ms. Rooney-Varga, who was not able to join tonight's meeting, and told the committee that she is one of the longest serving members of this commission. RESULT: APPROVED 202953: Requesting the re-appointment of Stephen Moore to the Commission on Energy Use and Climate Change.

Confirmation of Appointments and Personnel Matters Committee Page 2 of 2 Printed 4/20/2017 Mr. Sellers-Garcia spoke about Mr. Moore , who was not in attendance at this meeting, and told the committee that he has been a very active member of the commission. RESULT: APPROVED 202954: Requesting the appointment of Ramon Bueno to the Commission on Energy Use and Climate Change. Mr. Sellers-Garcia introduced Mr. Bueno and told the committee that he has attended many meetings over the last three years and has a lot of interest in this area. Mr. Bueno is a long time resident of Somerville and is excited about the steps Somerville is taking and the work that Mr. Sellers-Garcia is doing in Somerville. Alderman White noted that he has seen Mr. Bueno at various meetings around the city such as: Union Square, Assembly Row and the Green Line Extension, as well as, educational board meetings. RESULT: APPROVED 202955: Requesting the appointment of Michelle Melton to the Commission on Energy Use and Climate Change. Mr. Sellers-Garcia introduced Ms. Melton who has a very substantial background. The committee noted that Ms. Melton has a lot of very relevant experience. Mr. Sellers-Garcia told the committee that all seven seats on this commission have been filled. There are 3 male and 4 female members on the commission. RESULT: APPROVED 203013: Requesting the appointment of Michael Perrone to the position of Police Sergeant. Officer Perrone was interviewed for the position by the committee. Officer Perrone grew up in Somerville and has been with the city since 2011 and was part of the Alpha Unit/Community Police Officer for Assembly Row.
