COMMUNITY PATH SURVEY, CITY OF SOMERVILLE PARKS AND OPEN SPACE DIVISION
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The City of Somerville will hire a firm to conduct a survey of the Somerville Community Path from the
Cambridge line to Cedar Street. The survey will be done in preparation for the re-design of the Path,
funded by CPA in FY16.
ELIGIBILITY
Open space/recreation land: This project will rehabilitate and restore outdoor recreation land.
RECOMMENDED FUNDING
On April 26, 2017, by a vote of 8-0, the Community Preservation Committee recommended
appropriating $20,000 for this project from the open space and recreation land reserve budget to the
control of the City of Somerville for the overall purposes summarized in this document.

ALIGNMENT WITH FY17 COMMUNITY PRESERVATION PLAN
The Community Preservation Plan prioritizes rehabilitating existing recreation land according to need.
FUNDING CONDITIONS
1. The City develops a repository for surveys and plans to ensure they are available and accessible
to City staff in the future.
