CURTATONE MAYOR COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE FY17 FUNDING RECOMMENDATION FOR WINTER HILL COMMUNITY SCHOOLYARD, CITY OF SOMERVILLE PARKS AND OPEN SPACE DIVISION PROJECT DESCRIPTION The City of Somerville will construct a new schoolyard for the Winter Hill Community Innovation School. ELIGIBILITY Open space/recreation land: This project will rehabilitate outdoor recreation land. RECOMMENDED FUNDING On April 26, 2017, by a vote of 8-0, the Community Preservation Committee recommended appropriating $500,000 for this project, $56,233 from the open space and recreation land reserve and $443,767 from the undesignated reserve budget to the control of the City of Somerville for the overall purposes summarized in this document. In the 2015 open space inventory, the Winter Hill Schoolyard was found to be in poor condition. FUNDING CONDITIONS 1. Upon commencement of the Project and as appropriate, the City of Somerville agrees to post a sign stating that the Project was funded through the City of Somerville’s Community Preservation Act program.
