CITY OF SOMERVILLE Ordinance No. 2018-______ In Board of Aldermen _____________ HOUSEHOLD TRASH AND RUBBISH COLLECTION AND MANDATORY RECYCLING Be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen, in session assembled, that the provisions of Chapter 11, Section 11-31 and Section 11-40 of the City of Somerville Code of Ordinances are hereby amended as follows: A. Section 11-31 (b)(2) is amended by striking the words "Under Penalty of Law. Fine $50.00" and replacing them with the words "Subject To Fine Allowed By Law." B. Section 11-31 (b)(3) is amended by adding “textile recycling receptacle” as an additional category of authorized recycling receptacles. C. Section 11-31 (b)(26) be replaced with the following language: Textile Recycling Receptacle means a bag or container specifically distributed for use to recycle clothing and other home goods (exclusive of white goods), as part of a textile recyclables program. All such receptacles are pre-approved by the commissioner of public works prior to their distribution and use. D. Current Section 11-31(b)(26) be moved to (b)(27), and all remaining sections of 11-31(b) be renumbered accordingly. E. Section 11-31 (h)(1) is amended by striking the words "32-gallon" and replacing them with the words "64-gallon." F. Section 11-31(l)(3) is amended by deleting the following provision: "c. Latex paint (up to ten gallons). G. Section 11-40(e)(1) be amended by adding the language “or city contractor” after “not collected by the city.” Approved: President Board of Aldermen
