William White, Finance Committee Chair Members of the Board of Aldermen From: Kristen Stelljes, CPA Manager Re: Allocation of CPA Project Funds to Date Date: April 19, 2018 To date, the Somerville Community Preservation Act (CPA) Program has allocated $18,467,770 for 46 awards across the three CPA categories: affordable housing, historic resources, and open space/recreational land. This would not have been possible without the constant support of the Board of Aldermen for the CPA program as a whole and for the individual projects. This memo outlines how these funds have been distributed across the CPA categories from Fiscal Year 2015, the first year project funds were awarded through this point in Fiscal Year 2018. It also looks ahead to how these allocations would change should all of the Community Preservation Committee’s recommendations for funding Fiscal Year 2018 projects be awarded. The Community Preservation Committee anticipates debt service payments for these bonds will begin in Fiscal Year 2020. The affordable housing numbers in this table includes the $1,200,402 available for new projects in the Somerville Affordable Housing Trusts Fiscal Year 2018 funding round, which is still open. If the eight projects recommended for funding in Fiscal Year 2018 receive approval from the Board of Aldermen, CPA will have awarded $21,767,603 to 54 awards. The Somerville Affordable Housing Trust Fund has awarded $10,190,749 for 12 projects, including the $6 million bond for the 100 Homes Program. The Trust is still considering applications for Fiscal Year 18 funding and has a total of $1,200,402 available for new projects.
