The meeting took place in the Aldermen’s Chamber and was called to order at 6:00 PM by
Chairman White and adjourned at 8:25 PM.

The vacant Assistant Clerk of Committees position will be posted soon. This department is
currently running a deficit due to the number of hours being worked by the clerks to provide
coverage for the numerous meetings that have been held. Alderman Ballantyne spoke about a
possible restructuring of this department.
Community Preservation Act
Ms. Stelljes made this presentation.
Alderman Mbah asked for the amount of reserve funds from FY-18.
Alderman McLaughlion iinquired about the number of vacant apartments in the city now.
Alderman McLaughlin asked why it has taken 2 years, so far, to de-lead the property at 11
Illinois Avenue.
Alderman Ballantyne inquired about oversight on the 100 Homes Project.
Mr. Bauer explained that when state land is involved on a project, e.g., the Mystic boathouse, the
Community Preservation Committee takes steps to ensure that all the relevant players are on the
same page.
