From: Glidden, Sara (ART) To: Gregory Jenkins Subject: Congratulations: FY19 CIP Grant Announcement Date: Tuesday, August 28, 2018 4:49:51 PM   Dear Mr. Jenkins, Today the Mass Cultural Council today approved a spending plan for the new fiscal year that will invest in programs and initiatives that drive economic growth and opportunity, elevate the quality of life in communities, embrace accessibility and inclusion, and empower a new generation through education and creative youth development.  The agency’s FY19 spending plan rests upon a $16 million state appropriation recently approved by the Legislature with overwhelming support. I am pleased to inform you that Somerville Arts Council has been approved for an unrestricted operating support grant in the amount of $8500 through the Cultural Investment Portfolio program. We ask that you hold off on any public announcements until we have made our announcement to the public, and to the legislature, which will happen the week of September 3rd. At that time, you will be able to see a full list of grants on our website. Contracts for FY19 grants will be mailed in mid-September, and payments will be made after you return your complete, signed contract to the Mass Cultural Council.Your contract information will also be updated in our online Management Tool, where you can check on payment status. We have scheduled a “CIP 101” webinar for Tuesday, October 2 at 10am. This webinar is an introduction to the Cultural Investment Portfolio – some basic definitions, eligibility info, recent changes, and annual requirements. This session should be helpful to anyone who is responsible for grant management in your organization, particularly if there has been staff turnover in those positions. Please register for this session. Please remember to use the Mass Cultural Council’s updated logo when crediting our support. You can find the new logo on our website. Please let me know if you have any questions about your FY19 Cultural Investment Portfolio grant.  On behalf of everyone at the Mass Cultural Council, it is a pleasure to support the great work you do. Sincerely, Sara Glidden Sara S. Glidden she/her/hers Program Manager
