Page 1 DRAFT ORDINANCE CITY OF SOMERVILLE Ordinance No. 2018-_______ IN THE BOARD OF ALDERMAN: ________________, 2018 Be it ordained, by the Board of Aldermen, in session assembled, that the Code of Ordinances of the City of Somerville Article VI. Tree Preservation Ordinance, Section 12- 100(c), be amended to expand the membership of the Urban Forestry Committee by replacing the current language in subpart three of said section with the below underlined language: Sec. 12-100. - Establishment of the Urban Forestry Committee. c) Membership. This Committee shall consist of the following members: 1) The urban forestry and landscape planner; 2) The tree warden; and 3) Nine members of the public, with at least 1 member demonstrating expertise in the field of urban forestry, at least 1 member demonstrating expertise in the field of landscape design, and two members shall be between the ages of fourteen and seventeen at the time of their appointment or re-appointment, each serving a term of three years, selected by the mayor, and subject to confirmation by the board of aldermen.
