CITY OF SOMERVILLE ORDINANCE NUMBER 2019-__________ IN CITY COUNCIL: __________________ Be it ordained by the City Council, in session assembled, that Ordinance 2-123 of Chapter 2 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Somerville is hereby amended by adding at the end of the paragraph the following sentence: The city solicitor shall also notify the city council without delay of any suits filed against the city. The amended Ordinance shall then be as follows: Sec. 2-123. Prosecution of legal proceedings. The city solicitor may, with the approval of the city treasurer, begin and prosecute legal proceedings for the collection of claims due the city. He or she may, with the approval of the mayor, begin and prosecute such other legal proceedings as in his or her judgment the interests of the city may require, and shall make report thereof without delay to the city council. The city solicitor shall also notify the city council without delay of any suits filed against the city. Approved: President, City Council
