v. 5-2-19 CITY OF SOMERVILLE ORDINANCE NUMBER 2019- In City Council: AMENDING THE TERM OF PLANNING BOARD MEMBERS FROM FIVE YEARS TO THREE YEARS Be it ordained by the City Council, in session assembled, that Article III, Chapter 2, Section 2-24 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Somerville is hereby amended as follows: Section 2-24(c)(5) is hereby amended by replacing the words "five-year" each time it appears in the sentence with the words "three-year."; And further, to add the words “at least” before the words “one to be appointed each year on June 15 for a three-year term;” And further, to insert the following sentences at the end of the existing sentence: Their terms shall be staggered so that the term of no more than three members elapses each year. This ordinance shall not reduce the five-year term of any current member serving as of the effective date of this ordinance, but shall apply to the reappointment of any such member or appointment of a successor.
