CITY OF SOMERVILLE ORDINANCE NO. 2023- IN CITY COUNCIL: ________, 2023 Be it ordained by the City Council, in session assembled, that Section 1-19 of the code of ordinances of the City of Somerville is amended as follows by deleting the struckthrough text. Sec. 1-19. – City Seal. The following shall be the device of the seal of this city: A representation of the Old Powder House with the present flag of the United States of America unfurled within a circle, within same circle inscription “Town 1842—1872 City Honorably Purchased from the Pawtuckets 1639”; outer circle “Somerville, Mass., Municipal Freedom Gives National Strength”; the whole to be arranged according to the impression of seal printed herein.
