1 CITY OF SOMERVILLE ORDINANCE NUMBER 2020- IN CITY COUNCIL: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE WAGE THEFT ORDINANCE Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Somerville, in session assembled, that the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended as follows: Add the following text to Section 9-37 - Requirements for City Contractors, Subsection D - Wage Bonds, as Paragraph #2, renumbering the existing Paragraph #2 to Paragraph #3: "2. The City shall solicit a recommendation from the WTAC on the amount of the wage bond to be required for City Contractors, for whom a wage bond is required per this section. If the City modifies the amount proposed by the WTAC it shall inform the WTAC in writing its reason for such modification." Add the following text to Section 9-38 - Requirements for Licenses and Prospective Licensees, Subsection E - Wage Bonds, as Paragraph #2, renumbering the existing Paragraph #2 to Paragraph #3: "2. The Somerville Licensing Commission shall solicit a recommendation from the WTAC on the amount of the wage bond to be required for license or permit holders, for whom a wage bond is required per this section. If the Licensing Commission modifies the amount proposed by the WTAC it shall inform the WTAC in writing its reason for such modification." APPROVED: City Council President
