CITY OF SOMERVILLE ORDINANCE NO. 2023- IN CITY COUNCIL: ________, 2023 Be it ordained by the City Council, in session assembled, that Section 10-102 of the code of ordinances of the City of Somerville is amended as follows by adding the underlined text. Sec. 10-102. – Definitions. Biased based policing. The selection of an individual(s) for law enforcement action or differential treatment of an individual(s) in the performance of police services based on or influenced by a perceived trait common to a group. This includes, but is not limited to, race, ethnic background, skin color, gender, sexual orientation, religion, economic status, age, cultural group, family or relationship structure, or any other identifiable group.
