CITY OF SOMERVILLE ORDINANCE NO. 2020-_____ In City Council: - AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE USE OF PRISON LABOR SERVICES Be it ordained by the City Council, in session assembled, that the following provision is added to Chapter 2, Article VIII, Division 1, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Somerville: Sec. . Prison Labor Services Prohibited The City shall not procure, contract, hire, use or retain any labor or services performed, in part or in whole, by people who are serving a residential sentence in a jail, prison, house of correction or other like facility operated by or under the jurisdiction of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Corrections, a Massachusetts county or municipality, the federal government, or a private correctional facility.
