FUNDING CONDITIONS
1. Upon commencement of the Project and as appropriate, the City of Somerville agrees to post a
sign stating that the Project was funded through the City of Somerville’s Community
Preservation Act program.
2. Interpretive signage is included in the park.
3. A maintenance plan will be developed for the pocket park.
4. The Conservation Commission will be kept informed of progress and provide an advisory role on
the project.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
The goals of this project are to:
Transform underused City space into a native plantings place where pollinators can live, eat, and
reproduce.
Create a passive recreational area where residents can reconnect with nature and receive the
benefits nature gives.
Create a space of learning about ecosystems and the importance and pride of being a land
steward.
Success will be measured by:
Number of volunteers who help on this project
The park attracts a diversity of pollinators
New plantings are sustained over two growing seasons
Use by members of the community
