CITY OF SOMERVILLE ORDINANCE NO. 2021- IN THE CITY COUNCIL: ___________, 2021 Be it ordained by the City Council, in session assembled, that Chapter 8 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Somerville is hereby amended, by adding the following new provision: AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING DENIAL, REVOCATION OR SUSPENSION OF PERMITS DUE TO WORKPLACE SAFETY HISTORIES Sec. 8-___. Workplace Safety Concerns and History. Every officer in charge of a Department issuing a permit is hereby authorized to deny any application for, or revoke or suspend any permit, including renewals, issued to any person, corporation or business entity with a history of engaging in unsafe, hazardous or dangerous practices based on work safety histories or concerns. Work safety histories or safety concerns shall include information obtained by affidavit for each permit application, Occupational Safety and Health Administration violation reports, or other information presented to or documented by the permit issuing Department.
