During construction, the project team will be supported by the Somerville Fire Department should the need for manned-entry rescue arise. No additional City resources are required by this repair. Marginal Interceptor Sewer Rehabilitation This repair is essential to ensuring the integrity of the overlying roadway, and providing long term capacity for stormwater conveyance to the MWRA's Marginal CSO Facility. The MWRA has pledged through a Financial Assistance Agreement to contribute $1.4 Million toward the construction of the repairs. The Marginal Interceptor Rehabilitation Project will address approximately 1300 linear feet of large diameter brick pipe in need of repair. The repair will be performed by cementitious lining of the pipe, allowing for all repairs to be performed without excavation of the overlying roadway along Route 28/McGrath Highway. Additionally, point repairs will be performed in an adjacent 60" pipe within Foss Park, including repairs to pipe stonework and a buried manhole structure. IAM - Engineering This repair relates to the overall efforts to modernize our sewer and stormwater systems, ensuring the long term service of the S2 sewershed subsystem. The MWRA has agreed to share the cost of construction, with $1.4 Million deployed to the City for construction costs. This disbursement will be made upon bid award. The total project request is for $4,400,000.
