Entertainment: Towards the beginning we hope to have
activities for kids, including face painting. We will have a
DJ for a dance party, photobooth, pride flags hanging in
the square. We hope to have a "lounge area" in the plaza
where people can gather and have conversations about
their own stories or just to relax. We will also have
community tabling by LGBTQ focused organizations.
Temporary Structures: tables, a couple 10x10 tents,
some small lounge chairs for the conversations.

As part of our ArtsUnion event series to enhance the
cultural economic development of Union Square, we
present the Big Gay Dance Party. This is a free, outdoor
dance party for all LGBTQ individuals and allies to
celebrate Pride month.
Financial benefits:
The event takes place in Union Square Plaza, the heart of
Union Square where small businesses are located. This
will bring crowds from all over Somerville and neighboring
cities to Union Sq.
