PE Porchfest on Summit 5-14 — File 213792
PUBLIC EVENT/SPECIAL ALCOHOL LICENSE APPLICATION
City of Somerville, Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Application #: PEL22-000071
File #: 22-007673
Application for: Public Event
Organization name: Somerville Arts Council Porchfest
Event name: Porchfest on Summit Ave
Description: For Porchfest 2022, there will be 2 bands
playing on Summit Ave from 4-6pm at the west end of
the street. There will be many people watching and
listening. The intersection of Summit & Vinal is a
dangerous curve with many cars cutting through in order
to skip the lights on Highland Ave. We request to close
Summit Ave only on this side of the street (intersection
with Vinal) to keep people safe and prevent cut-through
traffic. Residents will still be able to access Summit via
Walnut Ave. We would place a sign on the east side
saying "no through traffic".
Location: The intersection of Summit Ave & Vinal Ave.
Requesting permit to close Summit Ave ONLY on the
west side where it intersects with Vinal Ave, for Porchfest
only. This is a dangerous curve with lots of cut through
traffic.
