We all get along, and there are pockets of friendly neighborly interactions, but this block party will serve the crucial role of fostering community and good vibes for Calvin street residents. Part of the Block party will be a series of "stations," where each house can offer their own food, music and arts+crafts workshops. We expect many from across somerville will join the festivities and become inspired by the creativity. A non-essential, one-way street near Beacon and Washington, Calvin is the perfect venue for a block party.   Financial benefits:  Several local businesses (Thai Hut, Katherine Small Gallery, Sweet Laundry) would receive a bump in customers due to the event.
