PUBLIC EVENT/SPECIAL ALCOHOL LICENSE APPLICATION
City of Somerville, Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Application #: PEL22-000034
File #: 22-005527
Application for: Public Event
Organization name: NICE, an LLC aka Get To The Gig
Boston
Event name: NICE, a fest Vendor Market
Description: NICE, a fest is a local indie music festival
on July 28-30 in Davis Square at The Somerville
Theatre, Crystal Ballroom and The Rockwell / Foundry
on Elm. We are hosting 50 local Boston area bands over
the 3 days and are expecting 1800+ attendees. As part
of the event, I want to offer a free, outdoor vendor market
(local small businesses, artists and vendors etc) that will
be accessible for both the public and the festival goers.
Think mini-SOWA but with a bit of a younger
demographic. The free market will be on July 29 & 30.
Location: Statue Park
Date(s): 07/29/2022, 07/30/2022
Rain date(s): 07/31/2022
Setup starts at (time): 10am
Event starts at (time): 12pm
Cleanup after the event ends at (time): 12am
Event ends at (time): 10pm
Entertainment: If we were able to - I'd have some
acoustic folk / indie performers play music through a
small PA at the vendor market. This is not a make or
break since there will be so much music at the venues,
that if this was not allowed, I would be OK with it.
Temporary Structures: Pop-up tents if permitted, but
mostly just tables / chairs.
Attendees:
Max attendance at one time: 150
Total people attending: 1800
Maximum attendees accommodated: 1000ish over the 2
days (not all at once)
Total Somerville residents attending: 500

Financial benefits:
We will be bringing 1800+ people to Davis Square over
the weekend of July 28-31st and they will be hungry,
thirsty and most if not all will have never stepped foot in
Davis before. I am applying for the license to host an
outdoor vendor market as part of the festival that would
be open to the public. Records, Books, Art and Vintage
are the main things that will be sold.
