Social or cultural benefits:
NICE, a fest 2024 will feature over 100 local Somerville
and Boston area bands and artists as well as 50+ local
artists, makers, sellers, food vendors and more in our
vendor market. This will be collaboration with a nonprofit,
Calling All Crows
The past 2 years we have held NICE, a fest in Davis
Square inside of Crystal Ballroom and The Rockwell, as
well as a free to the public Vendor market at Statue Park.
This year we want to utilize all of our past venues and add
an outdoor portion to the festival at the Parking Lot
adjacent to the vacated Walgreens to make it the premier
Somerville indie festival the city deserves!
Financial benefits:
In the past, NICE, a fest has brought out 2000+ people
each year to Davis Square. By adding a larger outdoor
element in 2024, we would be able to bring even more
people to Davis Square to spend their money on all the
incredible restaurants and businesses in the area, as well
as the venues we will be working with - The Rockwell,
Crystal Ballroom, Somerville Theatre and potentially also
The Burren. We partner with restaurants to push festival
guests to try their food and will many local vendors selling
goods as well
