Elizabeth Peabody House
Organization name:
Association
Elizabeth Peabody House Fall Festival
Event name:
This event, on October 19th 2024, will bring
Description:
together families in and around Somerville to have fun,
build community, and promote the education and food
access services of the Elizabeth Peabody House (EPH).
The event will include live music, local food and alcohol
vendors, tours of EPH's historic building, and activities for
children. While not finalized at the time of this application (7
/31/24), past children's activities have included a bouncy
house, magic shows, arts and crafts, and LEGO building.
EPH will work with local musical acts to provide
entertainment in the parking lot outside our building. We
expect food to be provided from 2 - 5 local restaurants or
businesses, and the on-site alcohol vendor will most likely
be Winter Hill Brewing Co. The alcohol vendor will provide
employees who are TIPS certified. The event will run from
12-4pm and there will not be a charge to attend. We will be
pursuing sponsors for this event and will also have the
opportunity for individuals to make donations to EPH in
order to cover the costs of event operation. We hope to
have around 200-300 attendees (children and adults) pass
through within the four hours.
Elizabeth Peabody House's proposed Fall
Location:
Festival will take place outside our building at 275-277
Broadway. We anticipate the event operating inside our
building, in our private backyard, and occupying the
parking lot/sidewalk directly outside our building.
