This is a fun, family-oriented Thanksgiving-day event. It is
always well attended by Somerville residents. It raises
money for several local charities and organizations.
Financial benefits:
The race donates to Somerville charities and organizations
including the Somerville Homeless Coalition, Somerville
HS Track team, Dilboy VFW Veterans' Fund and Stride for
Stride. Over the past 10 years these donations have
totaled over $366,000 with $42,500 in 2023.

flyers and signage locally to let residents know about the
race.

detail officers for traffic and crowd control. In recent years
this has been 10-12 officers.

wheelchair accessible They typically arrive Wednesday
morning and are picked up Friday morning.
