Somerville Historic Preservation Commission Dan Coughlin Dear Preservation Commission, This letter is to express my interest in joining the Somerville Historic Preservation Commission. I have a personal and professional connection to historic preservation and an appreciation for community-led development. In January of this year I purchased a condo in a building with historic designation, located just outside Union Square. Additionally, I have a background in architecture, having worked in Somerville for several years on both commercial and residential projects. I currently work as an artist and designer, and lease workspace at the Joy Street Artist Studios, in a neighborhood undergoing tremendous change through development. I believe my past and current work experience, along with ownership in an historic building make me a strong candidate for one of the openings at the Commission.
