City of Somerville, Massachusetts Legislative Matters Committee Meeting Minutes Dispositions 6:00 PM Virtual Tuesday, May 16, 2023 This meeting was held via GoToWebinar and was called to order by Chair Davis at 6:02 pm and adjourned at 8:13 pm with a roll call vote of all in favor (Councilor Scott, Councilor McLaughlin, Councilor Burnley, Councilor Kelly, and Chair Davis), none opposed, and none absent. Others present: Neha Singh – Mayor’s Office, Brendan Salisbury – City Clerk’s Office, Jill Lathan – DPW, Nicholas Antanavica – ISD, Michael Feloney – OSPCD, Lorraine Moorehouse – DPW, Andres Bueno – OSPCD, Stephanie Widzowski – Clerk of Committees. Scott Present: Approval of the Minutes of the Legislative Matters Committee Meeting of March 28, 2023. 23-0518 Accepted Chairperson Davis, Vice Chair Kelly, City Councilor At Large Burnley Jr., Ward One City Councilor McLaughlin and Ward Two City Councilor Scott Aye: That the Commissioner of Public Works, the Director of Procurement and Contracting Services, and the Director of Mobility report to the Legislative Matters Committee on enforcement of and annual reporting on the Ordinance to Safeguard Vulnerable Road Users. 22-0043 Councilor Davis Sponsors: Recommended to be marked work completed That the Code of Ordinances be amended by requiring the Mayor to annually submit to this Council a report on the status of housing. 22-0038 Councilor Davis Sponsors: Kept in committee Amending Sections 7-41, 7-43, 7-44, and 7-47 of the Code of Ordinances, related to Fair Housing. 22-1994 Page 1 of 2
