COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION FOR Open Space Land Acquisition Fund Contribution FY25 PROJECT DESCRIPTION The City of Somerville Public Space and Urban Forestry Division (PSUF) is seeking seed funding for the Open Space Land Acquisition Fund so that open space parcels can be acquired. ELIGIBILITY Open space/recreation land: This project would acquire and create new recreational land. RECOMMENDATION On December 11, 2024 by a vote of 8-0-0 the Community Preservation Committee recommended that PSUF be awarded $300,000 of Community Preservation Act funds, including $274,721 from the Open Space Reserve, and $25,279 from the Budgeted Reserve. FUNDING CONDITIONS • A perpetual conservation restriction will be recorded on all properties acquired with CPA funds per the requirement of the CPA enabling legislation.
