Now in its 37th year, ArtBeat is Somerville’s premier multicultural arts festival, presented by the Somerville Arts Council (SAC) and Mayor Katjana Ballantyne. The festival features two stages of live music, dynamic dance performances inside the Somerville Theater, and an array of craft vendors showcasing handmade goods. Throughout Davis Square, visitors can experience interactive art, pop-up performances, and engaging activities for all ages. With its eclectic mix of music, dance, theater, food, and hands-on experiences, ArtBeat celebrates Somerville’s vibrant arts community in an unforgettable way. Tents (will be no larger than Temporary Structures: 10x10), tables, chairs, porta potties, 2 stages for music. Dimension of the stages are 12x14. The festival showcases art in all forms, providing a platform for local artists while bringing the community together. Financial benefits: As one of the city's most well-known festivals, ArtBeat draws large crowds to Davis Square, directly supporting local businesses. The event is designed to highlight businesses along the route, many of which actively participate in the festival. Elm Street will be shut down from the center of Davis Square. However, access will remain open from Highland Avenue to College Avenue and from College Avenue through Winter Street into Holland Street. Final road closure details will be determined in the IAP.
