Social or cultural benefits:
Opportunity for families and the public to watch local youth
show off the circus skills they have learned over the
previous 5 weeks. Students also get the opportunity to
perform those skills and to learn about putting on
performances
Additionally, the OPENAIR Circus general goals in holding
classes is to promote leadership, self-esteem, and an
appreciation for arts and outdoor activity for children and
families.
Financial benefits:
We bring families from Somerville and neighboring
communities into our area and they often frequent the
restaurants and local shops before and after our classes
and performances.

We will be posting on social media and putting up
temporary signs. We expect to attend ArtBeat with an
activity booth and will have signs and flyers with us.
Additionally, we will be handing out flyers to the public at
other non-structured times.

Request of permit leniency on nearby streets during
performances through Somerville's Dept of Traffic and
Parking. We also promote the use of public transit, walking,
and bicycling.
Restrooms?
Yes
We expect to rent porta-potties for the event. Historically,
when we have held performances at Nunziato Field, the
port-a-potties have been delivered in advance of the
performances and taken away the day after. The porta-a-
potty driver has driven through the dog park (we have
opened the gates temporarily with the support of dog
watchers while the truck moves and closed the gates
immediately to minimize the impact) and placed the port-a-
potties along the fence to the dog park on the field side.
