With extensive experience in affordable housing finance and development and as a long-time Somerville resident I am confident that I would make a strong contribution to advancing affordable housing in our city. As the Senior Program Officer for Affordable Housing Lending at LISC Massachusetts I originate, underwrite, and close affordable housing loans for a range of non-profit and for-profit housing developers. I provide technical assistance to these developers to hone their project visions, refine their pro formas, and prepare successful funding applications for municipal, state, and federal resources. I guide them through this period of regulatory and financial uncertainty, helping them ensure their projects are feasible and responsive to community need. As a Senior Real Estate Project Manager at Fenway Community Development Corporation, I oversaw all aspects and stages of the development of three affordable housing projects. My most important responsibility was budget creation and oversight, ensuring that our projects leveraged the appropriate funding sources to remain adequately capitalized and under budget throughout development. Through this work I developed an extensive network in the Massachusetts developer and lender communities and worked with these groups to advocate for pro-housing policies at the city and state level.
