June 19, 2025 To: Morena Zelaya From: Jennifer A. Tsolas Re: City of Somerville Condominium Review Board Tenant Seat Dear Morena, I am writing today to express my interest in the open tenant seat on the City of Somerville Condominium Review Board (CRB). I have greatly enjoyed my time serving on the board as an alternate member, and I hope to move into a full seat. As you know, I first learned about the CRB when I was contacted because I was a former tenant in a home that was entering the conversion process. This personal experience opened my eyes to the protections that the City of Somerville provides tenants through this ordinance. Since joining the CRB, I have learned so much about the complex issues facing renters, owners, homebuyers and builders in today’s housing market. I have joyfully dedicated most of my career to working with nonprofit organizations in resource development and communications. I successfully created and implemented development and communication strategies to meet or surpass the goals of some of Greater Boston’s most impactful nonprofit organizations focused on affordable housing, hunger relief, housing security, education and youth mentoring programs. While I am currently exploring my passion for furniture and interior design in my role at Design Within Reach, I remain active in the non profit community and currently work with several education and youth development organizations in Boston. I continue to rent an apartment at and am dedicated to continuing to build community in this city that I have come to call home. Serving on the CRB combines my love for my community with my personal values which include fair, equal and affordable housing. I would greatly enjoy the opportunity to meet and discuss my potential candidacy for this position, and I can be reached at . Regards, Jennifer A. Tsolas
