City of Somerville Community Preservation Committee COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION FOR Open Space Land Acquisition Fund Contribution FY26 PROJECT DESCRIPTION The City of Somerville Public Space and Urban Forestry Division (PSUF) is seeking seed funding for the Open Space Land Acquisition Fund so that open space parcels can be acquired. ELIGIBILITY Open space/recreation land: This project would acquire and create new recreational land. RECOMMENDATION On February 25, 2026 by a vote of 7-0 the Community Preservation Committee recommended that PSUF be awarded $200,000 of Community Preservation Act funds from the Open Space Reserve. FUNDING CONDITIONS The project will follow the General Conditions outlined in a Memorandum of Agreement between the CPC and PSUF. In addition, the following special condition applies to this project:  A perpetual conservation restriction will be recorded on all properties acquired with CPA funds per the requirement of the CPA enabling legislation.
