Eng Project Manager Achievements/responsibilities -​ I added the following responsibilities as a project manager for the Tank Team to my previous technical duties upon promotion to GS level 12 in 2021: business development and scoping of future project work, new employee onboarding and training, scheduling project workflows and assigning work among team members, independent leadership of site visits, purchasing equipment and materials as a Government Purchase Cardholder, and providing training to facility owners and other stakeholders about their environmental compliance posture. I volunteered in 2023 to use my prior grant application reviewing experience to improve the policies and protocols for all future reviews, including rewriting the evaluation criteria to align it with the program statutes and regulations. Env. Eng Achievements/responsibilities -​ I was promoted from Student Trainee to Environmental Engineer in 2019. During this time, I was one of 3 engineers developing the Volpe Center’s new oil and hazardous materials program, or Tank Team, including conducting a detailed analysis of relevant statutes, regulations, and industry standards to produce a comprehensive assessment of a facility’s compliance status. During this time I received OSHA safety trainings and Aboveground Steel Tank Inspection certifications and began performing inspections in the field independently. Env. Eng Student Trainee Achievements/responsibilities -​ I joined the U.S. DOT Volpe Center as a Student Trainee in 2017 producing visual aids, including detailed maps and figures in ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro, and organizing, maintaining, and analyzing historic site records and environmental data to ensure accuracy and quality of reports. I reviewed notes and data produced by experienced inspectors for quality and accuracy. Under the guidance of the program manager, I worked increasingly independently on site investigation, remediation, and decommissioning reports for the remediation/brownfields team. My supervisor recommended me for an annual 2-month assignment with the grants team in 2018 where I advanced from a grant application Technical Merit Reviewer to a Review Team Lead over 3 years. New Jersey State Park Service ●​ My responsibilities as a seasonal NJ State Park employee were to provide customer service to park visitors, including customers at the park store; inform the public about park programs and events; conduct informational tours of the park’s historic sites and natural resources; and provide navigation aid and assistance to visitors with mobility devices or accessibility needs. I worked professionally and effectively with local advocacy/historical groups and the general public, patrolled park grounds, and enforced NJ State Park Service rules.
