Description: Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the
United States commemorating the emancipation of
enslaved Africans and African Americans. There will be a
flag raising, free ice cream from a black owned business
in Somerville, speakers, singers and poets in
collaboration with the North Shore Juneteenth
Association.
Location: Somerville City Hall Concourse - Parking Lot
near the flag poles.

High School cafeteria.

Entertainment: There will be a singer who will perform
the Black National Anthem while the flag is raised. To
close the program, a poem will be read.
Temporary Structures: Tents will only be used in the
event it rains to cover the podium.
