finished compost for use in their gardens or containers. The event will also serve to raise awareness and interest in the city’s
curbside food waste collection pilot program in East Somerville, which provides a number of benefits to enrolled residents.

the event will be available for gardeners at Glen Park Community Garden.

Event Name : Finished Compost Giveaway
Describe the Event: The City of Somerville's Office of Sustainability and Environment is applying for a public event license
to host a compost giveaway on Tuesday May 5th from 1pm-5pm during the City's SustainaVille week. The event will be
hosted at Glen Park and has been planned in coordination with the Glen Park Community Garden coordinator. The city’s
vendor for the curbside food waste collection pilot program, Garbage to Garden, will provide the finished compost and staff
for the event. The Office of Sustainability and several community organizations will attend to share resources and assist
residents. The event will also be an opportunity to raise awareness and interest in the city’s curbside food waste collection
pilot program in East Somerville.

approximately 2-3 tents for resource tables.

accessible through curb ramps from existing sidewalks.
