Dear Honorable Members of the City Council, As a supplement to the Mayor’s proposed FY 2027 budget, please find below a list of the 29 positions that were eliminated in the FY 2027 budget after all other measures to close a $5.4 million budget gap were exhausted. You will also find the 6 positions that were downgraded, 5 positions that were transferred into new divisions with new titles but will continue to perform substantively similar functions, and 8 positions that were added in this budget. Reductions to staffing were a last resort after revenue increasing measures, fee increases, use of stabilization funds to pay down debt, operational budget cuts, and use of grant and settlement funds still left a need to reduce more spending to balance the budget. Reductions were made after careful analysis and deliberation to minimize impacts to service delivery. The information outlined in the chart below can also be found within the budget book.
