CPC Recommendation Junction Park Change of Scope — File 23-1146
COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE CHANGE OF SCOPE RECOMMENDATION FOR
FY22 AWARD FOR JUNCTION PARK
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In FY22, the Community Preservation Committee recommended, and the City Council approved, a
grant of $100,000 for design of Junction Park. Carried out with broad public engagement to meet goals
stated in the FY22 project application, the design process has been completed and 100% bid
documents prepared. While the CPC’s recommendation had specified that the CPA funds would be
used for design and engineering services, the CPA funds were not used at this stage because there was
an opportunity to supplement the project with federal CDBG funds which needed to be used on a
shorter timeline. The Division of Parks and Urban Forestry requested that the FY22 CPA grant be
applied instead toward the construction of Junction Park.
RECOMMENDATION
On April 26, 2023 by a vote of 7‐0 the Community Preservation Committee recommended changing the
scope of the FY22 funding award for Junction Park Design to support construction of Junction Park.
