CPC Funding Rec Henry Hansen Park FY24 Off-cycle — File 23-1202
COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION FOR
Henry Hansen Park FY24 Construction
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The City of Somerville Public Space and Urban Forestry Division (PSUF) is seeking additional funding
for construction for the renovation of Henry Hansen Park, a small park established in 2004 to honor and
memorialize a Somerville war veteran. This project will expand the budget available to construct the
improvements envisioned in a CPA‐funded design which was previously awarded CPA funds for
construction in FY23. The project will improve a park which is currently in poor condition, providing
greater street access, handicapped accessibility, new seating, green spaces and plantings, a water
bottle filler, and a historic memorial plaza space that incorporates educational elements.
ELIGIBILITY
OpenSpace/Recreational Land: This project would rehabilitate recreational land and provide new
amenities.
