BOSTON EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER  85 BRAGDON STREET, BOSTON, MA 02119  tel [phone removed] MAYOR’S OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT MICHELLE WU MAYOR June 13, 2023 Chief Femino Somerville Police Department 220 Washington Street Somerville, MA 02143 Dear Chief Femino, Pursuant to MOA #53183 between the City of Boston and the City of Somerville, the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is pleased to notify you that the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) FFY22 funding (CFDA#97.067) under the Communications Interoperability Goal Area supports the City of Somerville Police Department’s acquisition of ten motorcycle operator headsets that include microphones in order to improve communications among first responders both within the department and between responding agencies. OEM is able to support the cost of this initiative not to exceed Thirteen Thousand Six Hundred Sixteen Dollars and Seventy-Nine Cents ($13,616.79). The project must be in compliance with all local, state and federal requirements. Any equipment not already listed in that Project Justification requires prior approval from OEM. All equipment must appear on FEMA’s Authorized Equipment List. Procurement must comply with Chapter 30B of the Massachusetts General Laws. Once procurement is completed and invoices have been paid, please submit a signed letter to OEM indicating the amount requested for reimbursement and referencing this award letter and the corresponding UASI grant year. Included with the letter, please submit proof of 30B compliance: copies of agency purchase orders, vendor invoices, and proof of payment to OEM for reimbursement. Final reimbursement request must be submitted to OEM by May 31, 2025. Failure to provide accurate documentation in a timely matter could result in refusal to reimburse your agency for incurred costs.
